The Kingdom of Cambodia, located in Southeastern Asia, was previously known as Kampuchea. It is a member of the World Trade Organization. The economy of Cambodia is agriculture-based. Rice is the chief crop of the country and grown on about eighty five percent of the cultivated land. Most part of the leftover land is then used for rubber trees. Other crops that are cultivated include corn, vegetables, cashews, cotton, tapioca, peanuts, tobacco and sugar palms. Main industries of the country include: tourism, wood and wood products, rubber, garments, rice milling, fishing, cement, gem mining and textiles. |
